XV Union of the Baltic Cities General Conference

The XV UBC General Conference “Building an inclusive and resident-focused city. The Baltic way” is organized on 15–18 October 2019 in Kaunas, Lithuania. The themes of the conference include inclusiveness of cities, solving climate adaptation risks, promoting climate-smart education and discussing culture as catalyst for cities development.

Several plenary sessions and various back-to-back meetings are organized during the conference. Among them, during the workshop on climate change and security risks the participants will discuss the approach to climate adaptation, particularly through the prism of smart stormwater and flooding management. Moreover, a roundtable "Good practices in UBC cities" will bring up sustainable good practices from the member cities of the Union of the Baltic Cities under the topics of environmental protection and education, energy-efficiency, mobility, citizens engagement.

During the meeting of the UBC Sustainable Cities Commission, one of the outputs of our platform – Baltic Smart Water Hub – will be presented to the UBC member cities with a call to share practices, solutions and innovative ideas among the city network.
