Strategic planning and perspectives for the Baltic Sea presented in St. Petersburg

The large Russian event Forum Strategov – XVIII Annual Strategic Planning Leaders Forum of the Regions and Cities of Russia, was organized in St. Petersburg on 28–29 October 2019. This year, the event attracted 1500 participants from 31 countries.

On 28 October, BSR WATER platform took part in the international seminar "The Baltic Sea Region: Russia-EU Transnational Cooperation Results and Perspectives" organized in a dialogue format by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme and Russian partners responsible for the cooperation. An intensive session introduced 11 projects and platforms from all three Programme priorities, through the short discussions providing the participants with the project stories, outputs and plans for the future.

In our turn, we introduced BSR WATER's main output Baltic Smart Water Hub, inviting participants to engage in the continuous knowledge exchange. As was discussed at the session, the Hub is particularly relevant for the Russian specialists in connection to the the published in Russia collection of Best Available Technologies. Being continuously developed with new content, the Hub provides information on recent implemented or piloted practices, and through BSR WATER will also include a section on innovations available in the region.
